13th Edition of International Air Show, India

Today marks the beginning of the biggest 3-day event of the year with Aero India 13th Edition International Air Show. The show is being held in Bengaluru and begins at Air Force Station in Yelahanka.

After the year 2020, and the chaos it brought along with the pandemic and lockdowns, the air show is organized to push the initiatives of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’.

Air show organized by Defense Research and Development Organization- DRDO will be witnessed by numerous influential leaders and millions of spectators.

 

Special Highlights of the show-

  • The US bomber lands for the first time on Indian soil.
  • Indian government to seal 40,000 crore deal to procure 83 Tejas light combat aircraft from an aerospace giant- Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
  • This deal is the biggest ever indigenous program to be signed between the Ministry of Defense and the HAL.
  • Only 3000 visitors are allowed entry each day at the display venue during the three-day event. And visitors with COVID 19 negative reports can only get a pass.
  • The show will not only have major attractions from the outdoor, static, and flying displays but also flying displays of Airborne Early Warning and Control, Light Combat Tejas, and LCA.
  • As a precautionary measure for COVID- 19, multimedia-based brochures and product presentations are also made available in a downloadable format.
