Arbitrary construction ignoring the environment. Blocking of normal flow of the river for power projects. Some experts are blaming all these factors for the disaster in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. This is exactly the theory that came up 6 years ago, even during the Kedarnath disaster.

A hopeful scene in the destruction around! Tapoban power project most affected by snow disaster in Joshimath, Uttarakhand! Several workers were trapped in a tunnel. After a few hours of suffocation, the ITBP soldiers rescued 18 people from that dungeon! Hundreds of civilians are still missing. Disaster management forces are trying to find them in remote hilly areas.

After such disasters, inaccessible areas became the biggest obstacle in the rescue operation. On it, several bridges have collapsed due to the floodwaters near Joshimath. The Border Road Organization is trying to repair it quickly. But, why is this disaster coming down on Uttarakhand again and again? That is what the experts are thinking.

Abhijit Mukherjee, a geologist from IIT Kharagpur, said, “I have seen working in the Himalayan region, ignoring the environment, ignoring science, building, and settling. Which we call in geographical terms neotectonic system. The harmony of the Himalayas with the environment is not being observed. We are responsible for this kind of thing. ”

Speaking at a meeting in Haldia yesterday, PM said, “Uttarakhand, where the mother Ganges originated, is now on the brink of disaster. Glacier floods have flooded the river, reports of damage are coming in. All measures are being taken.”

Expressing condolences, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee wrote in a tweet, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the death in the disaster in Uttarakhand. Condolences to the bereaved families. I wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured.”

The whole country is standing by. But the sky of Chamoli burdened with the tears of losing relatives. Rescue work is going on fighting with nature.
