Who said Indians are not innovative! Rather sometimes we come up with such an idea that no other can think of. Having said so, it is worth mentioning that Indian Railways recently has planned to bring the use of ‘Electric curtains’ in the long-distance trains, such as Rajdhani Express. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, Indian railways stopped providing blankets and curtains for the passengers of air-conditioned coaches. After that passengers started complaining regarding this. To make a solution for this problem, they have brought a technology were using just one button, the glass of a window will become opaque. This technology is known as Polymer  Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC). According to the Railway ministry, this polymer crystal is specially made for the use of passengers, where they according to their wish can either use the window as transparent or OPEC, by using just one switch.

Recently, Indian Railways has experimented with this method with few trains in Bengal. Eastern Railway is the first one to successfully carried these experiments. Although the usage of these types of electric curtains seems expensive, so it is quite vague that how many trains would avail this, but the rail ministry has said that if all the experiments result in success, they in future will carry this method in every train.
