The auction of IPL 2021 will be held in Chennai tomorrow. Preparations for the auction are already in full swing. 292 players will be up for auction this time. The BCCI has already made its list. The board has notified all parties to spend 75 percent of their fund value. Note that this time the IPL auction will not be a giant one. The mega auction will be before the 2022 season.

The auction of IPL 2021 will be held in Chennai tomorrow. Preparations for the auction are already in full swing. 292 players will be up for auction this time. The BCCI has already made its list. The board has notified all parties to spend 75 percent of their fund value. Note that this time the IPL auction will not be a big one. The mega auction will be before the 2022 season. Prior to the IPL auction on 16th February, the franchises submitted their list of returned and released players on 21st January. The players who have been released this time include Glenn Maxwell, Chris Morris, Lasith Malinga, Steve Smith, Harbhajan Singh, and Piyush Chawla.

 

The player registration deadline was 4th February. 1114 cricketers have sent their names for registration in the IPL auction. The final list of players to be auctioned this time was released by the board on 11th February. The list includes 292 cricketers, including 164 from India, 125 from abroad, and three-player associate countries. This year’s IPL auction will be held on 18th February in Chennai from 3 pm. The franchises will be on the lookout for some players to fill the team’s deficit in the upcoming IPL season. The 14th IPL may be held in April-May. 292 players are on the auction list and 71 cricketers have places in the teams. The highest reserve price is 2 crore rupees.

Two Indian players Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Yadhav and eight foreigners – Maxwell, Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy, Mark Wood – are in the highest bracket. The base price of 12 players has been fixed at Tk 1.5 crore. Among the 11 players who have a base price of Rs. 1 crore are two Indians, Hanuma Vihari and Umesh Yadav.
