Misty Mornings and Garam Cha!

You open your eyes to misty mornings filled with smoggy streets. The day must start with “Bharey Cha with Projapoti Biskut or bapuji cake”! Over an hour of hot gossips or PNPC. The topic could be anything, but the best and always trending is politics.

If it’s any special day or festivities, the patented breakfast you would feast upon is kochuri and cholar dal or aloor dom. Or you may even have an array of fulko luchi and torkari.

The Winter dilemma

It’s quite annoying taking bath during winters. Rest everything is lovable, but constantly trying to get the right mix of hot and cold water, ending up bathing with either too hot or too cold water is a real thing! Hence, the struggle is real while taking bath in the winters!

An afternoon of Mutton Kosha and Bhat Ghum

A meal of chingri bhapa, mutton kosha, chicken curry is a normal day meal which is followed by bhatghum. Bhat ghum is nothing but a long and healthy afternoon nap, which is a must for all Bengalis. Not to mention, ‘pash balish’ being your best companion for a good sleep. No nap is complete without a comfy pash balish in any Bengali household.

Break the Nap with Devil and Tea

Bengal is all about food and fun, after all! So, the prolonged evening adda with muchh, mucche dimer devil or egg devil to go with a hot cup of tea, makes to the evening snack menu for Bengalis.

Although you won’t be feeling it like Shimla, a typical bong is eager to take out his monkey cap and shawl from the trunk, and wear to heart’s content, till you accept that it really is jaw-dropping cold.
