Kolkata, The City in a Tea Cup!

Spread the love

As the name itself suggests, you can picturize the entire city with a teacup in your hand and people around you. The ‘adda’ culture revolving around a teacup gives the essence of the city as a whole. Various kinds of tea are available here. Milk tea, lemon tea, red tea, and so on. However, milk tea is mostly preferred.

Given in the authentic ‘Matir Bhar’, the tea has got a different touch. Perhaps, all your tiredness would wipe out just on one sip. And with that one sip, you would certainly feel like getting more cups of it, unless satisfied. Such an urge is also triggered by the intense conversations that take place. From football to Marxism, crushes to household, nature to religion, traffic to the global world, and anything that the city is fond of gets reflected. You can also find people playing cards in the tea stall.

There are heated debates and intense fights among each other. But, even after all of these, one thing remains constant. It is the love for the city, the passion for the city, and the confidence to enjoy every little moment that they have.

Like Kabir Suman wrote, “Ek cup chae ami tomake chai…”, every people in the city wants their own Kolkata, the way they see Kolkata, to be cherished in a teacup, once and always.
