Honorific Netaji and His Legacy

Born on 23rd January to Prabhavati Bose and Advocate Janakinath Bose in a Bengali household, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose came from a well to do family of 16 members. On one hand, he was a rank holder in academics and on the other an ardent follower of religion.

Being a B. A graduate, philosopher, follower of religion what made Netaji turn to nationalism? In those days, Indians were humiliated by Britishers left, right, and center. The world war I outbreak coupled with the humiliation of Indians on the home ground triggered Netaji’s nationalism sentiments.

Emerging as an Ultimate Hero of Freedom Fight

Millions of soldiers, leaders, social workers, gave their blood and sweat for the freedom of our country. Many fought, and many sacrificed their lives. We bow and pay our respects to all of them. What made Netaji stand out as a hero was his grit, passion for freedom struggle, fearlessness, and genius that brained many missions. Each of these took us a step closer to glory.

Member of the Congress and an Aspiring Revolutionary

Netaji remained a member of the Indian National Congress but never let go of his passion for bringing a revolution. He manned many missions and bought several into his vision. Shrimati Laxmi Sehgal being one of the remarkable ones out of them. Srimati Laxmi Sehgal was popular as the head of the Indian National Army’s all-woman unit.

Netaji had an intense dislike for imperialistic Britain and Britishers and he would not let anything make him believe otherwise.

Netaji- The Master of Masquerade

Being a defiant patriot, Netaji not only broke a terror on British tyrants in India but intelligently planned many tasks and disguised himself several times to reach his goals.

1. Escaped the house arrest guarded by British soldiers as Pathan.

2. Slipped under the noses of British soldiers in Afghanistan by pretending to be a deaf and dumb maulvi.

3. Reached Moscow unnoticed and unharmed by disguising himself as an Italian nobleman.

Netaji’s deeds are countless and he lives on as a Patriotic hero in our hearts. He lived and left gloriously. A very Happy 125th Birth Anniversary to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
