Well, with the onset of the Corona Virus pandemic, many things in our day-to-day life have changed dramatically. One of the major changes that came with the virus is the norm of wearing masks. But, the hilarious part is even within such strict regulation, the people of Kolkata have managed to find hacks and tricks to escape from the decorum.

Undoubtedly, the reason behind tantrums of not wearing a mask is not the free flow of air alone. There are some other reasons hiding behind the scene. Mostly, wearing lipstick has become a great issue during the lockdown. But, what about a women’s desire to dress up and look good? Can that be subsumed by a mask? Certainly not! At the same time, to show our lipstick proper and perfect, we the women of Kolkata prefer to put the mask down to the chin and walk past. And, suddenly if any police catch an eye, we put it up.

In packed buses, trams, and metro, everyone wears a mask, but if the headcount goes down, bring it on…We have achieved a little scope to put down our mask. Sometimes, teenagers even call it the ‘new style’. The new style of escaping from the stuffy piece of cloth from in front of our mouth and nose, indeed.

Perhaps, if you are in a call, that’s a bonus for you. You can put down the mask in terms of engaging in the conversation. The excuse is simple. Nothing can be heard while speaking with the mask in front of the mouth. And, to extend the limit of putting down the mask, the conversation can go on and on, even though there is nothing as such to talk about.

Now, would you call it a tantrum actually? The case is rested upon you!
