The third test match of the Border-Gavaskar trophy played between India and Australia, begin yesterday at Sydney Cricket Ground. After playing some really good cricket in the Melbourne test, Ajinkya Rahane and his team have found there and is certainly looking charged up. Although Indian top-order batting hasn’t been able to contribute much in a match till now. But, with Rohit Sharma coming into the team, after missing the limited-overs format in this series, India would look forward to strengthening their batting in the upcoming two test matches. Although the batting couldn’t perform up to expectation, Indian bowlers bowled very well in this session’s test series. Nonetheless, in the upcoming matches, India would definitely miss two experienced campaigners like Shami and Umesh. Bumrah and Ashwin have the responsibility to lead the bowling side. Mohammad Siraj, who replaced Shami in the second test, had a fine debut. He will be charged up to put his best in this match, alongside Navdeep Saini, who makes his debut in the Sydney test, and has a high expectations from others. With K.L. Rahul’s absence in this series, after getting injured in a practice session, Indian lower – middle-order batsmen have to put their best, as they haven’t been able to perform their best yet.

On the other side, the Aussie batting line up looks strong, as David Warner joins the side, alongside Pulcovosky, who just had a fantastic domestic season. Australian batting struggled so far against Indian bowlers, but players like Smith, Labuschagne are always dangerous, and big-match players. India would have certain advantages if they win this test. They will come closer to qualify for the finals of the ICC Test Championship. And if they win, they would retain the BorderGavaskar trophy for a third consecutive time. Never in history, India has achieved these feet. So they must have kept this in mind. Ajinkya Rahane led very well in the previous match and has a decent record of captaining, he will definitely try to add this feather in his cap. As the new decade begins, let’s see how team India welcomes this new year!
