The melody of the desert is to satisfy the lyricism of the rivers at the specially designed genre and music festivals in Kolkata to revive the humanities and to help the artists.

The three-day festival called Folk Safar is curated by banglanatakdotcom, a non-profit organization that plays a critical catalyst for the revival of people art and folk of eastern India at exterior stage Mohar Kunja at the center of the city’s cultural district from 12th to 14th February.

The three-day festival is going to be a feast for the eyes and ears. The people craftsmen and artisans will display their exquisite art forms.

 

They’re serving a Kalbelia dance performance by Kalbelia dance guru Kalunath Kalbelia and his troupe. Rajasthan’s Diwana popular music genre group is going to be led by Gazi Khan, among Padamashree Anwar Khan, Khamaicha by Ustad Ghewar Khan, Dhol by Firoze Khan, Sarangi by sensational Meheruddin Langa, and desert music king Sardar Khan Langa and Buddhu Khan Langa. The troupe will bring alive the traditional musical tradition of Barmer desert village Jagir. Of course, the music of the dune is interfaced by the folk’s music riverine Bengal and its delta region. Don’t miss the melodious Baul, Fakit, Bhawaia, Bhatialai, Jhumur, Chhow, Natua, Raibeshe, Putul Naach (Dance of dolls), Gambhira.
