2020  has been a  nightmare for most of us! Since the cases of Covid-19 came out rapidly, a nationwide lockdown was imposed. Since then everyone was hoping for the vaccine to release. Although since November, we’ve seen normalcy have been restored in most of the public sector. Finally, after almost a  year, the vaccination has started in  Bengal on 16th January.

The health department of the West Bengal government has vaccinated almost 84000 health workers in the first phase of vaccination. Various sources have stated that the government is planning to vaccinate  11 lakh frontline workers in the second phase. Till now almost 30000 frontline workers have been given the vaccine.

The State government has developed the vaccination centers to 351. After Covishield (vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India), West Bengal received 1.6 lakh doses of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin. After the vaccination process started, the rate of cases has been dropped to almost 5%. The recovery rate has been good for the last few days.

2020 can be marked as the worst year ever in the recent past because a lot of heartbreaking incidents occurred in that year. Nonetheless, we can hope that 2021 will be totally different and the world will be free from this terror of Corona.
