An interesting place that will leave you in awe. Let us introduce you to this 65-year-old toy shop that has always been the go-to place’ for all toy lovers. Be it, kid or adult!

Nestled in the corner of Park Street and Russell Street, the ‘Indian Hobby Centre’ has an exquisite collection of action figures, planes, and even aeromodelling kits. Yes, you heard us, right! One can’t ignore the display of those micro toy cars that stands the testimony to the bygone era! Established way back in 1954, the Indian Hobby Centre was spread in cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. Sadly, the Kolkata branch survived. Back in their early days, this store uses to import hobby sets from renowned British labels like Meccano and Hornby and they even owned a toy factory in Howrah. Going by history, back in the 1980s, the toy store even introduced a restaurant and an ice cream parlor which will support the revenue system to run it smoothly.

Even after so many years, this store continues to be the one-stop destination for all kinds of toys, be it battery-operated or motorized. If you’re a fan of aeromodelling like RC planes, catapult glider kits, the chuck glider kits, tow-line gliders, and free flight models then this shop is for you. Let us make it more interesting for coin collectors. If you’re a crazy coin collector- an assemblage of coins, currency notes, stamps, and first-day covers then we suggest after this pandemic gets over, visit once. One will come across few action figures like the toy models of Elvis Presley, Tintin, and some of your favorite action heroes!
