However, the biggest trick one can to keep its body under control is by drinking a lot of fluids. Not just water, one does need a dash of Bengal’s own Ghol. Ghol and summer go hand in hand. The cooling drink has a magical power to all those who came home after a hard and tiring day or anyone. It is much lighter than lassi and undoubtedly carries nutritional value.

 

The Importance of Ghol in Bengal:

Ghol in Bengal tastes yummier by adding a dash of Gondhoraj Lebu. Be it a hard day/tiring day/sad day Ghol blends greatly with each feels.

‘The King of Fragrances,’ Gondhoraj Lebu is a lime, native to Bengal which we, Bengali’s adore. Though the Gondhoraj is sweeter in taste and it is rejuvenating and simultaneously have an unimaginably fragrant.

 

How to make the Magical Drink?

Use curd or yogurt, water (cold or one can use ice), a generous amount of sugar, and blend it well. Make sure your Ghol is frothy and creamy. Add lime followed by lime zest and a bit later lime juice and don’t forget the black salt.

Gondhoraj Ghol for 2:

Ingredients:

  • Yogurt/Plain curd – 2 cups
  • Ice water/Chilled water – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp, adjust as per taste
  • Black salt – a pinch or two
  • Gondhoraj lime zest – 1 tbsp
  • Gondhoraj lime juice – of 1/2 a lime
